Inner Eye by Maryam Lamei Harvani

Painted in 2019, Inner Eye depicts a single bird resting among two arched columns of hand-painted flowers against a dark ground. The palette moves through dusty blue and soft gold into deep teal and violet — colors that Maryam builds with the same meticulous attention she brings to every element of the composition.

This edition is an exact photographic reproduction of the original acrylic, watercolor, and cardboard work, preserving the texture and surface detail of the original — including Maryam's signature, which appears as part of the artwork itself.

Please note: These prints showcase Maryam's unique technique, characterized by uneven, grainy color and texture. This effect is intentional and is part of Maryam's unique artistic expression.

Each print in this limited edition of 50 is individually numbered. Maryam's signature is embedded within the artwork itself — her preferred way of signing her editions.

About the artist:

Maryam Lamei Harvani was born in 1985 in Sarab, a historical city in northwest Iran. Her work is rooted in the Iranian Golo Morgh tradition — a classical Persian painting style in which the flower represents the beloved and the bird the lover — but she pushes far beyond its boundaries, weaving together Persian miniature geometry, emotional fragmentation, and a quiet spiritual intensity that is entirely her own.

In 2025 alone, Maryam exhibited at Art Dubai with the Leila Heller Gallery, was featured as an illustrator in the New York Times, and created an exclusive artist collection for Starbucks. She has held solo exhibitions in Paris, Istanbul, and Dubai, and her work has been shown in more than twenty museums, galleries, and cultural centers worldwide.

The limited edition prints available at Toi Art Gallery are among the only editions of her work available to collect at home — each one numbered, signed, and printed on museum-quality cotton paper.
