Maggie Chiang is a Taiwanese American full time artist and part time dreamer. Inspired by both places real and fictitious, Maggie's illustrations evoke a longing for adventure and the pursuit of the unknown, exploring impossible landscapes and places unseen. She has traveled in the US, and has been to Taiwan, China, Singapore, Japan and more. Growing up in the city and being surrounded by a concrete forest, Maggie enjoys getting away and look to nature for inspiration. A central theme of her art is the relationship between humanity and nature, oftentimes this relationship is the underlying thread that ties together her work, and establishes her individual artistic voice. Maggie’s favorite techniques are watercolor and acrylic. Her drawings are full of little details and beautiful color palettes. The subtle stories in her works (like Going Home, Reflections, or River), depict a fascinating, almost metaphoric, moment; they are like little haikus that capture the essence of instants and emotions and they call us, they seize our attention, they leave us daydreaming.

The paper collage ads dimension and texture to the already colorful and cheerful composition. Perfectly adorable for a kid's room.

Sylvie was born in France where she studied Textile Design at the School of Applied Arts in Lyon. Always passionate about books, newspapers and illustrated magazines, after graduating she started working as a freelance illustrator.  She prefers working with the monotype technique, but she also likes to explore other techniques such as etching and silkscreen. She participated in numerous group exhibitions. Sylvie also developed a passion for education through art. She is currently working on her first didactic book for children, which will be published in Italy. Her drawings are whimsical and profound, with a sensibility for everyday settings; this is what she says about her work: "What I want is to create an emotion, to take the viewer to the edge of my pencil and bring them to other realities."

                                    About the artist:

Joanna Concejo was born in 1971 in Slupsk in Poland. She graduated in 1998 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan. Since 1994 she moved to Paris, France, where she lives and works. Her work won numerous awards and recognitions all over the world; to name some of them: n 2004 she was selected for the Illustrators Exhibition of Children's Book Fair in Bologna and in 2004 won the Calabria Incantata "Abracalabria" Altomonte (Italy) prize. Her work was also selected for the Biennial of Illustration "Ilustrarte" Barreiro (Portugal) in 2005, 2009 and 2013. She participated in solo and group exhibitions in Europe and Asia. Joanna’s drawings create a beautiful world. Her work is like a pebble thrown in the water: its splash reverberates in circles of emotion and thoughts that linger. How does she achieve this magic? There is an element of mystery, perhaps even to herself; it seems that when she makes art, she surrenders to her own creative powers; she creates art that invites us, the viewers, to enter a portal and get transported to her remarkable world.

This is what she says about her work: “Inspiration is not something I seek, it is more a state of availability in life, an openness to things that happen to me, to the encounters I have, to images, landscapes, to everything I can see, hear, touch ... I am often surprised myself of what I can do. It is often very unconscious.”
