Maggie Chiang is a Taiwanese American full time artist and part time dreamer. Inspired by both places real and fictitious, Maggie's illustrations evoke a longing for adventure and the pursuit of the unknown, exploring impossible landscapes and places unseen. She has traveled in the US, and has been to Taiwan, China, Singapore, Japan and more. Growing up in the city and being surrounded by a concrete forest, Maggie enjoys getting away and look to nature for inspiration. A central theme of her art is the relationship between humanity and nature, oftentimes this relationship is the underlying thread that ties together her work, and establishes her individual artistic voice. Maggie’s favorite techniques are watercolor and acrylic. Her drawings are full of little details and beautiful color palettes. The subtle stories in her works (like Going Home, Reflections, or River), depict a fascinating, almost metaphoric, moment; they are like little haikus that capture the essence of instants and emotions and they call us, they seize our attention, they leave us daydreaming.
