Jean Mallard was born in Paris in 1997. Fan of Moebius comics and Miyazaki films, he quickly fell in love with drawing and decided never to part with it again. He joined the School of Decorative Arts in Paris in 2015, where he learned comics, cartoons, screen printing and engraving. His favorite techniques are watercolor and gouache, which have been with him since his childhood and with which he works to create endless worlds. He created his universe inspired by popular Russian painters, Indian miniatures, Japanese prints and Douanier Rousseau. He left his home country to live in Naples in 2019, where he produced a series of illustrations that would give birth to his very first exhibition "Via Miracoli". His drawings were selected at the Bologna Illustration Fair in 2018 and 2020, as well as at Angoulême in 2019. He received the Grand Award in Bologna in 2018.
