Eightyfive.sqm’s top picks Gift Guide holiday edition 2021 for Toi Art Gallery

I love Alexandra's Instagram feed Eightyfive.sqm that depicts her Berlin apartment with a laid back aesthetic of modern and cozy everyday life. Her style is simple and welcoming, mixing house plants with string lights and her super cute dog taking a nap on the rug. I asked Alexandra to pick out three Toi Art Gallery limited edition prints for our 2021 curated gift guide, and these are her top picks. Thank you Alexandra!

TOP PICK 01
FOR THE SISTER OR MUM

Under the shelter of generosity by Maryam Lamei Harvani

One of my favourites by Iranian artist Maryam Lamei Harvani.  Besides the incredibly harmonious choice of colors, I find Maryam's specific technique super interesting. The textures and colors are partly uneven or grainy and give the whole image a very nice depth. As a gift I would see this art print especially in living rooms. Next to warm wood tones and harmonious beige & natural colors, this print will definitely be an eye-catcher!

TOP PICK 02
FOR SOMEONE WHO LOVES DOGS

Summer Day by Fumi Koike

A great gift idea for someone who loves dogs. And interior design. And beautiful things… in general. This print by Fumi Koike combines everything I need in my daily life. I would imagine this painting in someone's home who appreciates and loves the same things, but also someone who may not have a lot of artwork on their walls yet. Since it is very detailed, it can be displayed alone or on a gallery wall. A piece that looks good both in the dining room and in the kitchen.

TOP PICK 03
FOR THE BEST FRIEND

Hug by Miren Asiain Lora

This artwork by Spanish artist Miren Asiain Lora gave me the feeling of well-being right from the first time I looked at it. Even-though it has a rather simple color palette, it still feels alive and moody to me. The partially blurred blades of grass and bush in the foreground make the image very soft. I would see this art print in the bedroom or a cozy quiet corner in the house. A perfect gift for a loved one. Not only because of the homely feeling but also because symbolically, you will get a hug every time you look at it.
